As mayor, the player has the power to enact laws and ordinances which can impact the gameplay experience of other players in a positive or negative way. One of the new features in Animal Crossing: New Leaf is the ability to become the mayor of the player’s village. The game also features a new “Find Mii”-style minigame called “Desert Island Escape”, where the player must use teamwork to escape from a deserted island. The player can perform various tasks such as fishing, bug catching, furniture building, and fossil hunting. The game is an enhanced port of the previous Animal Crossing game for the Nintendo DS, and introduces new features such as a larger world, new villagers, and new activities.Īs in the previous games in the series, the player takes on the role of a human character who lives in a village inhabited by anthropomorphic animals.
